Janna Maria Vallee is an interdisciplinary artist working primarily in textile media. In 2013 she graduated with distinction from the Fibres and Material Practices program at Concordia University in Montreal Quebec, and in 2016 returned to her home-province of British Columbia after practicing art and life in the New York City metropolitan area with her family for three years. Janna is a recipient of the American Tapestry Alliance Painter/Brown scholarship for tapestry study and in 2015 chaired their 11th international unjuried small-format tapestry exhibition. She has been teaching textile techniques that she employs in her art practice since 2009.
