Beautiful Mess: the joyful & random discovery of the artistic process

September 18–October 31, 2021

Every artist has had one: “a bad art day”–nothing works in the studio–you’ve just made a mess . . . A Beautiful Mess.

This exhibition will allow the public access to this usually private process of creation, and allows a rare opportunity of peeking behind the curtain so to speak, beyond the final piece of art. Your artist statement will invite the viewer to gain further insight on what can happen when someone creates art–and how the process itself is artistic. This show aims to create a sense of intimacy between the artist and the public.

FibreWorks Studio & Gallery is calling for applications to a curated exhibit exploring works that have been born of “happy accidents”. We have engaged Catherine Nicholls & Pat Crucil, both of which have extensive experience in the fibre art medium in exhibits and authoring works on the fibre artistic process. We want all corners of the world and all fibre art mediums to be represented in this show.

Applications open April 19, 2021. Click the link below to our call for entries page.
